Brigham Young and the Massacre at Mountain Meadows

By: Will Bagley

Anything written by this historian who specialized in the history of the western United States and the American Old West will give excellent fodder for a book report.

This book, Blood of the Prophets, received numerous awards. It tells of the fateful time when one hundred and twenty travelers across the Great Basin of Utah met their untimely death. Bagley’s story also tells of the involvement of the territorial governor, Brigham Young, and explores the subsequent suppression and distortion of events relating to the massacre.
